The Artistic Vision
The International Mozart Opera Intensive presents a fully staged production of Le Nozze di Figaro in a curated Vienna Chamber Edition, realized with the professional musicians of the United Europe Orchestra.
This edition represents an artistic distillation of Mozart’s masterpiece. Choruses, dance sequences, and three smaller roles are omitted, while selected recitatives — studied extensively during the program — are not included in performance. The condensed format allows focused musical and dramatic refinement within an intensive production period.
Working in a double cast format, participants engage in a rehearsal process modeled on professional opera house practice. Musical and staging rehearsals proceed in parallel, including dedicated recitative training and detailed ensemble work.
The program culminates in two public performances — one for each cast — on the stage of the historic Borromäus-Saal in Vienna.
Orchestra
All performances and orchestral rehearsals are presented with the professional musicians of United Europe Orchestra — experienced, actively performing instrumentalists.
Participants rehearse and perform within an authentic professional orchestral environment rather than a student ensemble, ensuring a high artistic standard throughout the production process.
The Venue
The final performances will take place at the historic Borromäus-Saal in Vienna.
Located in the cultural heart of the city, Borromäus-Saal is a distinguished concert venue renowned for its refined acoustics and strong connection to Vienna’s musical tradition. Performing on this stage offers participants the opportunity to present their work within an authentic Viennese concert setting.
